Since its U.S. introduction in 2011, the Ford Fiesta has always lived up to its name. Compact, fun to drive and fuel efficient, the fiesta is a party on wheels. The 2017 Ford Fiesta is no different - getting behind the wheel will have you grinning from ear to ear.

Changes for 2017

The 2017 Ford Fiesta remains largely unchanged from the previous year. That's OK, because there's no need to mess with perfection.

Trim Levels and Body Styles

The Ford Fiesta is a subcompact car available as a sedan and hatchback. Both are available in either S, SE and Titanium trim levels, with the hatchback also being offered in high performance ST trim. Standard features across the board include variable intermittent wipers, power mirrors, keyless entry, air-conditioning, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power locks, Bluetooth, Ford Sync infotainment system with a 3.5-inch display, a sound system with a CD player, USB port and AUX.

Standard fare for the Ford Fiesta comes in the form of a 120-hp 1.6L four-cylinder engine. There is also a 123-hp 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder available. The four-cylinder can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed dual clutch automatic. The three-cylinder only comes with the 5-speed manual. Both variants come with front-wheel drive.

If you're looking for a car to take to the race track, or just one that provides a spirited commute, the Ford Fiesta ST is the model for you. The ST is blessed with a 197-hp 1.6L four-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This winning combination makes it one powerful hatchback.

Performance and Fuel Economy

Not only does the Ford Fiesta have some scoot, but it can also save you dough at the pump. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is *29 miles per gallon combined highway/city driving. The other trim levels are also miserly when it comes to petrol; the 1.6L is good for 29 miles per gallon combined highway/city driving. The 1.0L comes in at a hybrid-worthy 35 miles per gallon combined highway/city driving.

People think they need a gargantuan SUV to be safe. This simply is not true. The 2017 Ford Fiesta offers big safety in a small package. In fact, it's so safe that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it top ratings in several categories. Standard safety equipment for the Ford Fiesta includes antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag and Sync 911 Assist function.

From the peppy engine options to the excellent handling, the 2017 Ford Fiesta is a four-wheeled bundle of fun. So, even if the office party gets cancelled, you know you'll have a fiesta on your way to work.
