For 2020, the Ford Fusion is available in four trim levels: S, SE, SEL and Titanium. It’s the perfect four-door for your daily commute or an extended road trip.
What’s new for 2020
The V6 Sport trim level has been discontinued for 2020. Also, cars with the 1.5L engine no longer come with paddle shifters. Otherwise, the Fusion carries over essentially unchanged from the previous model year.
Design
Nothing else on the road looks like the Ford Fusion. The sedan boasts a sophisticated exterior design, complete with a wide-mouth grille and lineup of distinct wheel options. Buyers looking to enhance the exterior even further can opt for the SE Appearance Package with black 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and other sporty design cues.
Inside the well-appointed cabin, you’ll find a rotary-dial gear shift and available leather-wrapped steering wheel. Heated and ventilated front seats, as well as a heated steering wheel, are also offered. There’s also an optional power moonroof to brighten up your day.
The trunk – with its 16 cubic feet of space – is also worth mentioning. With that much cargo room, you can easily fit large objects, such as a set of golf clubs.
Performance
Plenty of powertrain options are available in the 2020 Ford Fusion. The lineup starts with a 2.5L four-cylinder (173 hp, 174 lb.-ft.) that comes in the S model. SE variants get upgraded to a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder (181 hp, 185 lb.-ft.) and the Titanium comes with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder (240 hp, 270 lb.-ft.). The 2.0L also comes standard as part of the SE all-wheel drive package.
All traditional, gas-powered Fusions come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard; all-wheel drive is available on upper trim levels.
Buyers looking for maximum efficiency will want to check out the Fusion Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models. Both come with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. A continuously variable (CVT) transmission sends power to the drive wheels.
Technology
The Ford Fusion backs up its modern appearance with the latest technology. Available features include the SYNC 3 multimedia center with built-in Alexa and Waze. Both voice command and touch can be used to control the system. Ambient lighting and onboard Wi-Fi are also available on the Fusion.
Ford’s ground-breaking Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) comes standard as well. The bundle includes BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, a rear-view camera, auto high-beam headlamps and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.
