The 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 is the engine for the non-hybrid F-150, producing 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque with a tow rating of 13,500 pounds. Features include the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder to increase performance, as well as twin intercooled turbos that have almost zero lag.

3.5L PowerBoost® Full-Hybrid V6

As the hybrid model engine, this setup doesn’t utilize either gas or electric power for fuel, but uses them in tandem to create a greater effect. This engine boasts 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque, along with the ability to tow up to 11,700 pounds. Southfield area drivers who choose this hybrid powertrain can also benefit from a heavy-lifting maximum available payload of 2,120 pounds.

Comparing The Engines

The PowerBoost® seems to possess more horsepower and torque than the EcoBoost®, courtesy of its hybrid power source. However, the EcoBoost® still sports more towing power. For the F-150, both engines offer a fair amount of power and fuel efficiency for anything you’d need your truck for.
